Man charged in father’s death near Northeast Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – Travis County sheriff’s officials said Sunday afternoon a 23-year-old man has been charged in the death of his father in Travis County.

Officials said they responded to a homicide overnight near Northeast Austin after they received multiple calls.

Officials said Tabyes (Ta-bye-es) Sauls has been charged with murder in the death of his father in the 11000 block of Gregg Lane, on a stretch of road between Manor and Pflugerville.

Sauls was reportedly arrested after officials interviewed him following the discovery of his father’s body.

Lake Travis double homicide suspect killed himself after police chase

LAKE TRAVIS, Texas – Officials said a 54-year-old double homicide suspect in a Lake Travis neighborhood reportedly killed himself Friday after a standoff with police in Mississippi.

Travis County sheriff’s officials said Randall Burrows shot himself in the head just outside of Summit, Mississippi, after a short chase with Mississippi highway patrol.

He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead soon after 5 p.m., roughly 15 minutes after the U.S. Marshals had found him and the chase began, according to Travis County sheriff’s Capt. Craig Smith.
