Double murder suspect arrested, tries to drown himself

WESLACO, Texas — Authorities said the suspect of double homicide attempted to drown himself in a sewer pond Sunday night before authorities used hooks to pull him out and arrest him.

After discovering two women stabbed and beaten to death Sunday morning in a home on Mis Padres Avenue just north of Weslaco, investigators had been searching for the unidentified Hispanic male who they believe was responsible for the double homicide and the kidnapping of a neighbor close to the home.

AMARILLO, TexasAmarillo police said Friday that a 16-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday after a man stabbed him when he allegedly tried to rob three people.

Authorities said two Amarillo men and one woman with aggravated robbery after police said they participated in two attempted robberies with the teenager. Police spokesman Cpl. Jerry Neufeld said the unidentified teen was still at the hospital Friday afternoon and has not been charged.

ALAMO, Texas — Police said two Donna students were injured by a 14-year-old shooter in a gang-related shooting at a school bus stop in South Alamo.

According to Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño, four Donna school district students were waiting for a bus to arrive about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday when a Ford Explorer drove their way.

Treviño said a 14-year-old driver slowed the SUV as it passed the intersection of San Carlos and San Angelo streets, where the students stood. He then rolled past the group about 5 to 8 yards before sticking half his body out of the window and opening fire.

Woman killed by boyfriend, ran to neighbor for help

HOUSTON, Texas — A report states a 31-year-old woman was running to a neighbor’s house for help before she died of gunshot wounds in northeast Houston Monday morning.

The victim was allegedly shot by her boyfriend inside a home in the 4000 block of Liberty near Russell. She was bleeding when she ran next door and banged on the door to beg for help.

The neighbor tried to help, but the armed suspect had followed the victim.

“Opened the door and she was right there bleeding, and fell on him,” neighbor Emma Badino said.

Teen allegedly stole couple’s iPhone, punched man

AUSTIN, Texas — An arrest affidavit states a 17-year-old man who allegedly stole a couple’s iPhone after asking to borrow it to make a phone call early Friday near the Capitol has been arrested by police.

Lane Lewis is held in Travis County Jail on Sunday afternoon, charged with robbery by assault, a second-degree felony. Bail for Lewis is set at $15,000.

According to the affidavit, the man and woman were walking home from Sixth Street to the West Campus area shortly before 3 a.m. Friday when they encountered three men in a parking lot of a state government building on Congress Avenue and 15th Street.

Bedford Heights homeowner shoots would-be robber who threatened him with a kitchen knife

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio – The law enforcement officials in Bedford Heights are investigating a shooting incident that took place Wednesday morning where a homeowner shot a person who forced his way inside the residence, according to the reports.

Police in Bedford Heights were called to respond to a residence at a Mardale Avenue after a 9-1-1 call of a man who is trying to force his way inside the residence. The break-in took place at around 11 a.m.  Wednesday morning.

West Jefferson Slaying Suspect in Custody

WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio — A Marion man who is believed to be responsible in a West Jefferson slaying Monday evening was taken into custody by the Marion police officers and the county deputies early Tuesday morning, according to the reports.

The West Jefferson police officers said that the fatal shooting took place near the intersection of Smith and Garfield streets where they were called to respond at around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Two people killed in a residence on West Side of Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The law enforcement officials in Cleveland say that two individuals were discovered dead on a west side home of Cleveland Monday morning, according to the reports.

The 75-year-old retired steelworker and his 72-year-old wife were discovered dead in the city’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood by their daughter at around 9 a.m. Monday morning.

The Cleveland police were called to respond to the home in the 3300 block of Virginia Avenue following a report that the two persons were dead and was found bleeding from the head. The two victims were pronounced dead at the scene by the medic personnel, according to the reports.

CINCINNATI, Ohio –- Police in Cincinnati are still searching for a third suspect following an arrest of two males in a bank robbery inside the Ferguson Road Kroger on Friday morning, according to the reports.

The Third District Officers were called to respond to a robbery report that took place at around 10:15 a.m. Friday morning to 2310 Ferguson Road at the Fifth Third Bank inside of Kroger, according to the police reports.

Two Persons were Shot At A Columbus Hotel Parking Lot

COLUMBUS, Ohio –- Police in Columbus say that a double-shooting took place late Friday evening in a motel parking lot on the city’s north side where one person was killed and another was taken to the hospital, according to the reports.

The Columbus police homicide detectives were questioning several people after responding to a report of hearing several gunshots at the Knights Inn located at 1300 Dublin-Granville Rd. They were questioning individuals shortly before midnight.

The homicide detectives later determined that the shooting incident broke out at about 11:45 p.m. late Friday evening, according to the reports of the Columbus police.
