Suspect arrested in Cibolo business homicide

CIBOLO, Texas – Authorities reportedly arrested a 27-year-old man on a murder charge Tuesday for his alleged role in the death of a Lockhart man found at a Cibolo business.

Reports state Ishmael Jabari Debrow was arrested at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

He was taken to the Bexar County Jail on a murder warrant for the death of Rand Cameron Vanwert who was found dead Monday at the Jumping For Joy Inflatables business in the 400 block of Farm-to-Market Road 78.

Vanwert reportedly worked at the business and was found by his colleagues. Initial reports said he died by “unnatural causes.”

Teen arrested in State Highway Patrol chase through Elyria

ELYRIA, Ohio – Authorities reportedly arrested a male teenager and his 18-year-old passenger Wednesday afternoon following a chase by a State Highway Patrol trooper.

A news release states the 15-year-old boy was pulled over about 1 p.m. on Murray Ridge Road in Elyria Township by a state trooper because the teen was allegedly speeding in a 2004 Toyota Camry.

Soon after he was pulled over, the teen allegedly sped away from the officer, heading east on Leo Bullocks Parkway.

After the driver realized that the road was closed ahead, he took a U-turn and headed west on the road while the trooper chase the vehicle.

Cleveland carjackers allegedly followed woman, stole car

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities say two alleged carjackers were arrested after they followed a 19-year-old woman, stole her car and caused a standoff with a SWAT team.

Deshawn Dooley, 20, and Cardell Doyl, 22, are both charged with aggravated robbery. They are scheduled to make their first court appearance on Thursday.

Police said the men allegedly robbed the woman about 7 p.m. Monday in the 3200 block of West 50th Street, between Kouba and Field avenues in the city’s Stockyards neighborhood.

Police reports say the woman was dropping off a friend at a home on West 73rd Street and was driving on Clark Avenue when she noticed a tan SUV following her.

Officer shot while investigating Far West Side burglary

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Reports say San Antonio police are trying to investigate an incident Sunday morning on the Far West Side where an officer responding to a burglary call was allegedly shot at.

The officer was investigating a burglary at the Marbach Park Apartments, 1880 Horal Drive, at about 3 a.m. and was walking up the stairs to a second-floor unit of the apartment complex when someone began firing at him.

Police say the unknown suspect allegedly fired multiple shots from a long rifle at the officer forcing him to retreat and await backup. The officer was not injured.

Man injured in Clark-Fulton shooting

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities say a 32-year-old man was hospitalized Sunday night after he was shot in Clark-Fulton neighborhood.

The shooting occurred on the 3600 block of Newark Avenue, just west of Fulton Road and north of Storer Avenue.

Police say the victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with a wound to his right thigh. His condition was unknown. No information on suspects or a motive was released Sunday night.

On Sunday morning, police said a 97-year-old woman was injured in an alleged carjacking on the city’s East Side.

Gunman killed Ohio police chief, 2 nursing home workers

KIRKERSVILLE, Ohio — Authorities said a gunman fatally shot an Ohio village police chief and two nursing home employees on Friday before he was found dead.

Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp identified the slain police chief as Steven Eric Disario, who headed the Kirkersville Police Department.

Thorp said Disario, 36, had only been on the job for about three weeks. He said the chief was a father of six children, with a seventh on the way.

“It’s a hard day for all of us,” Thorp said.

El Paso man faces murder charge for decapitating mother

EL PASO, Texas – A 31-year old El Paso man is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of his mother who had been allegedly decapitated in West El Paso last month.

Fernando Alonzo Alarcon was booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex on Thursday after being extradited from Doña Ana County, where he was arrested April 21 after driving away from El Paso.

The body of Graciela Acosta Licon, 62, was found early April 20 in the apartment she shared with her son at the Mesa Place Townhomes, 5450 Suncrest Drive.

Akron father mistook daughter for intruder, shot her

AKRON, Ohio – Authorities said a 42-year-old Akron man reportedly mistook his 22-year-old daughter for an intruder early Thursday and shot her.

The daughter reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting that took place at a house on Onondago Avenue near Brittain Road.

Police said no charges have been filed but the incident remains under investigation.

The father reportedly heard someone in his kitchen just before 1 a.m., prompting him to grab his gun. He reportedly called out but no one responded.

Gunman fled San Antonio downtown shooting

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Authorities reportedly arrested an alleged gunman who shot a man inside a pickup Wednesday morning downtown before fleeing.

Police said the suspect was “delirious” and “whacked out of his mind” when officers caught him near the Tobin Center.

Officers initially responded to the shooting around 7:30 a.m. at the Days Inn motel in the 900 block of East Houston Street, where they found the driver suffering from a gunshot wound.

Lt. Karen Falks said the driver told police that he had picked up a passenger, whom he knew, on the South Side and they got into an argument inside the car while traveling on Interstate 37.

Cleveland woman allegedly shot boyfriend

Cleveland, Ohio – Police said a 22-year-old Cleveland woman allegedly shot her boyfriend Tuesday morning on the southern border of the city’s Edgewater neighborhood.

A felonious assault warrant was issued Tuesday for Patricia Justers who is accused of shooting her 51-year-old boyfriend in the leg because she suspected him of cheating.

The man was driving a car in which Justers was a passenger. A Cleveland police report states the woman became irate because she thought he was having an affair.

The man reportedly told police that she pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and shot him in the knee.
