Couple shot days apart in same Cleveland neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A news report states a 26-year-old man and his girlfriend were each shot in the same Cleveland neighborhood on different days.

Cleveland police reports say the man was shot four times in the legs and buttocks on Monday, and his 18-year-old girlfriend was shot in the arm on Wednesday.

Officers are investigating whether the two shootings are related.

Police said the man was reportedly shot about 8:30 p.m. Monday near his girlfriend’s house on Beckman Avenue near East 86th Street in the Fairfax neighborhood.

Suspect who shot Harris County deputy found dead

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A suspect who reportedly shot a Harris County sheriff’s deputy in the arm and prompted a SWAT standoff was found dead early Thursday inside a home near Spring.

Officials said it is unclear if the suspect died by suicide or was shot by deputies.

The incident began late Wednesday when four deputies arrived at a home in the 2500 block of Kiplands Way to make an arrest in connection to an earlier deadly conduct incident involving a weapon.

As deputies handcuffed the suspect, he allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and started firing, according to Deputy Thomas Gilliland, a spokesman for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Police investigate possible links between 2 West Side shootings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland police are investigating possible connection between two West Side shootings in which one man was shot before he crashed his car, and another man suffered a gunshot wound to the face.

The shootings reportedly began about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, about one half-mile apart on Clark Avenue on the border of Clark-Fulton, Detroit-Shoreway and Stockyards neighborhoods.

Alexis Parker, 27, was involved in one of the shootings but she hasn’t been charged in the shooting itself. She is charged with fourth-degree felony aggravated riot in a fight and shooting a week prior in the same neighborhood.

Woman charged in deadly South Fort Worth store robbery

FORT WORTH, Texas – A 19-year-old woman who admitted to police that she helped plan a south Fort Worth store robbery that killed a Fort Worth man is now facing a capital murder charge in the case.

Sonja Jones was arrested Monday on a capital murder warrant in connection with the Jan. 11 robbery and fatal shooting of Raymond Huerta, 26, at a Save-A-Lot grocery store where Jones previously worked.

Raymond Huerta, whose wife is an employee at the store at 5519 James Ave., was shot multiple times while he was trying to intervene in the robbery to protect his wife.

Cleveland father shot son who defended mom

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland police said a 41-year-old Cleveland man reportedly shot his adult son who defended his mother during a family argument at a West Side apartment building.

Court records show Ronald Foster is charged with felonious assault in the shooting that critically wounded his 24-year-old son, who suffered at least four gunshot wounds.

A MetroHealth spokesman said on Monday that the victim was no longer listed as a patient.

The shooting reportedly occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday in the hallway of an apartment building on Archwood Avenue near Pearl Road in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood.

Cousins allegedly raped girl at house party in Delhi Township

DELHI TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Officials said two cousins are accused of raping a 15-year-old girl during a small house party with alcohol in Delhi Township.

Steven Lee, 20, and Antonio Leicht, 21, are scheduled to face a judge at 9 a.m. Monday morning on one count each of rape.

Delhi Township police Lt. Joe Macaluso said the men raped the teen, one right after the other, early Saturday in the basement of a home in the 300 block of Anderson Ferry Road.

Macaluso said the girl was taken in an ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where doctors examined her.

Woman fatally shot by SAPD officer at North Side home

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A woman was shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer after an altercation with officers Saturday afternoon

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Kirsten Kloppe, 43, who was shot in the abdomen at her North Side home as officers attempted to disarm and subdue her.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Kloppe had a history of mental illness.

During a briefing on the shooting, McManus reported Kloppe was taken to University Hospital in critical, but stable condition. San Antonio police later reported on social media that she had died.

Attempted robbery led to shooting in Cuernavaca

AUSTIN, Texas — Travis County deputies say two men were injured after an attempted robbery led to a shooting in the Cuernavaca area Saturday afternoon.

Deputies reportedly detained Jesus Corrales and David Orion Dewey-Haagensen, both of whom are 17 years old. The third suspect was not named because he is a 16-year-old minor.

Just before 5 p.m., deputies responded to the scene in the 1700 block of Lancer Lane where the victim, a 21-year-old man, told deputies he was communicating with a friend on Snapchat when the friend asked if he was home, the affidavit says.

Man surrendered in fatal Akron shooting; PNC Bank robber sought

AKRON, Ohio – A 35-year-old man wanted in the shooting death of a 57-year-old Akron man has turned himself in on Friday.

A news release from Akron police states Jerry Dwayne Alford Sr. is facing a charge of aggravated murder in the Nov. 16, 2017 death of Dereke Alexander.

Alford reportedly turned himself in to detectives shortly after noon Friday. He is being held in Summit County Jail and scheduled to appear in Akron Municipal Court on Saturday, the release says.

About 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, officers reportedly got a call of a shooting at the back of a convenience store on West Market Street near West North Street.

3 charged in shooting death of Elyria man

ELYRIA, Ohio — Two teenagers and an 18-year-old man are charged in connection with the alleged shooting death of a 19-year-old man on Tuesday night.

A news release from Elyria police states Kajaun Anderson and the teens face an aggravated murder charge in the killing of Cody Snyder.

Anderson is being held in Lorain County Jail on no bond until his court appearance Thursday. The teens, who are 16 and 17, are being held in the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.

The alleged shooting reportedly occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on Clinton Avenue near Lake Avenue where police received reports of shots fired. Police would not say where Snyder was shot.
