Teen shot dead after fight during Kirby park basketball game

KIRBY, Texas – Authorities have identified the 16-year-old boy who was fatally shot at a Kirby park Friday afternoon after fight during basketball game with another boy.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office reportedly identified the teen as Favian Orlando Ramirez who was shot once in the chest at John H. Sterling Memorial Park.

Ramirez was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he died at about 4:50 p.m. the same day.

Police said Ramirez and the boy began to fight during the game. Police said the other boy left, but returned with a gun and shot Ramirez as about 20 witnesses watched.

Off-duty Cleveland officer attacked, robbed of city-issued gun

CLEVELAND, Ohio – An off-duty Cleveland police officer reportedly struggled with a man who stole her city-issued service weapon causing her to nearly lose consciousness Thursday night.

The victim was reportedly identified as 47-year-old Officer Maye. Her first name hasn’t been released.

Authorities reportedly urged the robbers to turn themselves in during a Friday press conference.

Maye was working an off-duty security detail at a Taco Bell on Lee Road in the Lee-Miles neighborhood.

Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said that the struggle happened about 10:50 p.m. when Maye escorted a customer to a vehicle in the parking lot.

Strongsville teacher shot and fatally stabbed

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – The longtime Strongsville middle-school teacher was found shot and stabbed to death in her kitchen Monday night.

Police have announced no arrests in the death of 49-year-old Melinda Pleskovic.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner statement released Friday said that Pleskovic died of wounds to both her body and head. Her husband reportedly called 911.

Police responded about 8 p.m. at her home Blazing Star Drive after a man who identified himself as her husband told a 911 dispatcher that she was stabbed to death.

Man charged in shooting death at College Station apartments

COLLEGE STATION Texas — A 22-year-old College Station man has been sought in the shooting death of a 19-year-old who was killed during a drug deal in an apartment complex parking lot.

An arrest warrant was issued Sunday for Liam Gonzales who is accused in the Saturday evening incident outside the Flats on 12, which is across Harvey Mitchell Parkway from Walmart.

Gonzales is charged with aggravated assault. It wasn’t clear why the charge was aggravated assault since the shooting resulted in a death.

Paramedics were called at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday to the scene where they found Christopher Maurice Idlebird Jr. in the parking lot.

Man allegedly shot up far SE Side trailer park

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Authorities are searching for at least one gunman who allegedly shot up a far Southeast Side trailer park Sunday night, leaving at least one hospitalized.

Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting around 11:15 p.m. at the Lake Village Mobile Home Community in the 5000 block of Lake Mitchell.

Deputies reportedly found one victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center by paramedics. He was initially listed in serious condition.

Man shot after 5-hour standoff in Terrell Hills

TERRELL HILLS, Texas – Police said an armed man was shot after he approached officers and refused to comply with their commands during a nearly five-hour standoff on Saturday in Terrell Hills.

Terrell Hills Police Chief William Foley said officers responded to a call of a suspicious person on the 300 block of Elizabeth Road about 6 p.m.

Police arrived at the area and found an individual sitting on a curb in front of a residence. Officers reportedly tried to determine if the man was the focus of the call, but the man reportedly became agitated and walked away.

Teen shot in Glenville neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities said a 16-year-old boy was shot twice Saturday night in Glenville neighborhood.

Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said the shooting reportedly occurred about 10 p.m. on the 10600 block of Olivet Avenue, a few blocks north of Superior Avenue in the neighborhood.

The boy was hit in the chest. He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic by a private vehicle before he was transferred to University Hospitals for treatment, the spokesman said. His current condition remains unknown.

No suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the shooting, and no further information on the incident was released Sunday morning.

4 arrested in south Houston home invasion

HOUSTON, Texas – Four suspects were arrested after police say they held a family at gunpoint during a home invasion in south Houston overnight.

Houston police said the alleged home invasion occurred at 11 p.m. Thursday at the Landmark at City Park Apartments located on Orem Drive just off Highway 288.

Police said there were two adults and two small children inside the apartment when several armed men came in and robbed them.

A family member of the victims came by and saw what was going on. They immediately called police and the armed men began shooting at the homeowners moments later.

Houston-area men arrested in shooting near Florida rally

HOUSTON, Texas – Three Houston-area men were arrested by authorities in Gainesville, Florida in a Thursday shooting that happened after a prominent white nationalist gave a speech at the University of Florida.

The men were identified as Tyler Tenbrink, 28, of Richmond; and two Pasadena brothers, 28-year-old Colton Fears and 30-year-old William Fears.

Gainesville police say each man has shown connections to extremist groups. All men face attempted homicide charges after they reportedly got into an argument with a group of people that escalated into gunfire.

Man allegedly raised middle fingers before charging at officers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A man who got shot in August while he allegedly charged at officers with a pencil reportedly flashed both of his middle fingers at them before being shot.

Sidney Isaac Gates

Court records show Sidney Isaac Gates, 25, is in jail on charges of aggravated assault against a public servant and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail totals $150,000.

The incident reportedly took place on Aug. 30 and began when two women were walking up a set of stairs near the ambulance bay of Baptist Medical Center.
