Shotgun blast on East Side critically injured bystander

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Officials said a bystander was left in critical condition after being hit by a shotgun blast intended for someone else early Monday on the East Side.

Police said two people were shooting at a different man around 12:25 a.m. in the 3700 block of East Commerce when the off-target round reportedly struck the victim in the chest.

The victim was walking from his vehicle at an apartment complex when he was shot. The victim was able to leave the complex before two people picked him up and took him to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

2 charged in death of Cleveland transgender woman

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two people were charged in connection with the deadly shooting of a transgender woman whose body was found dumped in a driveway with plastic bag around head.

Michael Cole, also known as Michelle Cole, 29, and Heidi Krudy, 30, both of Bedford, turned themselves in to Cleveland police on Monday, hours after they were charged in the death.

They are charged with aggravated murder in the death of 32-year-old Brandi Bledsoe.

Krudy and Cole are expected to make their first court appearance on Tuesday. Police said the duo does not exclusively identify as a man or a woman and that they were a couple at the time of Bledsoe’s death.

Man allegedly ‘hog tied,’ tortured, robbed in South Bexar County

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A 35-year-old man was jailed Saturday after he allegedly “hog tied,” tortured and robbed a man on the far South Side last summer.

Gregory Huitron faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $125,000 bond.

An arrest affidavit states Huitron picked up the victim around 10 a.m. on June 28, 2016 from the 1700 block of Roosevelt Avenue and took him to a home in the 100 block of Jesse Street.

Akron man arrested in SWAT standoff, charged in shooting

AKRON, Ohio — Police said a 58-year-old Akron man who was arrested following a SWAT standoff is charged with attempted murder in the shooting of his estranged girlfriend on Saturday.

Police said Vester Morrison Jr. is also charged with felonious assault and having weapons while under disability in connection with the Saturday shooting.

Authorities said the 48-year-old woman was shot several times about 8:30 a.m. while she was driving. She reportedly crashed her car into a tree on Little Street at South Hawkins Avenue.

She was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for treatment. Her condition was not immediately available Monday.

Missing Texas girl found dead in Dallas home

DALLAS, Texas — A 13-year-old Texas girl was found dead Sunday inside a Dallas home after she reportedly went missing for four days.

The FBI and local authorities reportedly found Shavon Le’Feye Randle dead inside a house in the 2200 block of East Kiest.  Michael Titus, a person of interest in the case, was also found dead at the home.

Police reached out to the community for tips and eventually received information leading them to the Cedar Crest address.

“After arriving at the residence we noticed that there were some injured individuals inside,” according to Eric Jackson, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Dallas field office.

Teen critically shot at Cleveland park

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities said a 16-year-old boy remains in critical condition Friday after suffering gunshot wounds at a Cleveland park.

The teenager was shot in the arm and abdomen about 3 a.m. at Topeka Park off Aspinwall Avenue in the city’s South Collinwood neighborhood.

According to a Cleveland police report, a security guard was in the parking lot of a nearby convenience store when he heard eight or 10 gunshots.

The guard reportedly saw two males making their way toward him a few minutes later. The 16-year-old was bleeding heavily and appeared as if he had several gunshot wounds to his torso, the report says.

New York hospital shooting rampage killed 1, injured 7

NEW YORK CITY, New York — Authorities said a doctor who was forced out from a New York hospital after being accused of sexual harassment reportedly shot seven people Friday at the facility, killing a female doctor and leaving several doctors wounded.

Dr. Henry Bello reportedly shot himself dead after trying to set himself on fire at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.

Officials said the bleeding gunman reportedly staggered into a hallway where he collapsed and died with the rifle at his side.

Officials reportedly identified the shooter as the 45-year-old Bello, who was described on the hospital website as a family medicine physician.

2 San Antonio officers critically shot near downtown

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A crime prevention patrol near downtown Thursday reportedly turned into a shootout that left two San Antonio police officers critically wounded and one suspect dead.

Chief William McManus said Thursday evening that one officer who was shot in the face is in “grave, grave condition” and is not expected to survive. The other remains in critical condition but is expected to live.

Around 3:15 p.m., the officers reportedly made direct contact with two suspects on the street near the intersection of Evergreen and Howard.

Mom, sons accused in beating death during Cleveland home invasion

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Police said a mother and her two sons are accused of beating a 49-year-old man to death during a home invasion.

Holly Hentges, 41, Nicholas Franklin, 21, and Hentges’ 16-year-old son are all charged with aggravated murder in the June 18 beating death of Charles Foster, who lives about a mile south of the trio’s home.

The 16-year-old boy is also charged in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court with aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

U.S. Marshals reportedly arrested Hentges and the teen Thursday at a home in the 2100 block of West 98th Street. Franklin was arrested at a home in the 1300 block of West 93rd Street.

2 arrested in shooting of cable worker on West Side

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A man and a woman were detained after a 30-year-old Spectrum cable contractor was shot Thursday while working on an apartment complex on the West Side.

Paramedics responded to the shooting around 11:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Merida Street, where they found Kyle Ballard with a large gunshot wound on the left side of his abdomen.

San Antonio Police Department Sgt. Ramiro Garcia said Ballard was transported to University Hospital in serious condition and underwent surgery. The contractor was responsive when he was transported to the hospital.
