Cincinnati father found not guilty of knocking out daughter’s teeth

CINCINNATI, Ohio – A Westwood man charged last year with knocking out his 1-year-old’s teeth was acquitted Wednesday by a Hamilton County jury.

The jury, before Visiting Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Nurre, found Jasmin Standifer, 24, not guilty.

Standifer was arrested following a June 2, 2009, incident where he was accused of forcing his daughter to drink milk from a sippy cup.

He then was accused of hitting her in the mouth as she drank from the cup, knocking out her teeth and causing her to be hospitalized. He was charged with child endangering that carried a maximum prison sentence of eight years.

Cincinnati woman held against will then assaulted

CINCINNATI, Ohio – A South Fairmount man is being held on a $100,000 bond after members of the strike force apprehension team found him and arrested him on abduction and felonious assault charges on Tuesday.

Brandon Braley, 24, who lives with his grandmother, is accused of restraining the mother of his child against her will for more than six hours and assaulting her with a knife each time she tried to escape on July 12.

31-year-old man accused of rape of a minor

ATLANTA, Georgia — Atlanta police arrested a 31-year-old man accused of raping a minor, Officer James Polite said Tuesday night.

Damon Burton was taken into custody in the 3500 block of Pine Forest Drive at 8:30 p.m., Polite said. He was transported to the Fulton County jail.

No further details about the arrest were released.

South Florida music teacher sentenced for child molestation

A South Florida drum teacher will be sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl for more than a year during her weekly music lesson.

Sandeep Munshi was convicted last month of six felony counts involving the girl and is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.

His student testified she was afraid to come forward sooner because she worried no one would believe her story about the renowned music teacher.

Munshi, a traditional Indian and Middle Eastern drummer, rejected a plea offer that would have sent him to prison for 15 years.

Aventura man charged with sodomy with a dog

AVENTURA, Florida – An Aventura man was arrested on Friday and charged with having sex with his dog, a Great Dane named Christie Brinkley.

Armand M. Pacher, 64, a former insurance executive, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail on a charge of animal cruelty, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Pacher’s veterinarian in Gainesville reported him to police after an office worker called him to reschedule eye surgery for the 2 ½-year-old dog and Pacher talked about sex, according to an arrest warrant.

New rape charge filed against Orlando’s Malibu Rapist

ORLANDO, Florida – New charges have been brought that could keep the most notorious rapist in Central Florida’s history in prison for the rest of his life.

The so-called Malibu Rapist terrorized the city for years with a slew of attacks that started in the 1980s in a subdivision west of Ivey Lane that was called Malibu Homes.

The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office has filed three new charges against George W. Girtman, who was set to be released from prison next June.

Sex offender Jeffery Epstein moving to Dubai, New York Post says

A week before his house arrest comes to an end, the New York Post is reporting that Palm Beach billionaire Jeffrey Epstein plans to move to struggling Arab boomtown Dubai.

The Post quotes an unnamed source who says Epstein, 57, is planning the move to the city-state business hub now that he has settled all civil suits against him by women who allege sexual contact with him when they were underage.

Dubai, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, is south of the Persian Gulf and is the second largest emirate by area, after Abu Dhabi.

Surveillance video released in West Palm Beach serial rapist case

Authorities have released new information and a surveillance video showing a serial rapist who was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” this weekend.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the man is believed to be behind four rape cases reported since April 2009.

Central Florida female sex offender is charged with failing to register with authorities for the 3rd time

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Florida — An Osceola County woman convicted of molesting a young boy more than a decade ago was arrested Friday for not registering her sex-offender status with law-enforcement officials – for the third time.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Rosemary Mowls, 41, at her Kissimmee home in the 1300 block of Sawdust Trail.

She is being held at the Osceola County Jail without bond.

It is unclear when she moved again, but the arrest warrant issued earlier this month shows she had not informed authorities again of her new address.

DNA profile points to a suspect in 2006 sexual assault case

WEBSTER, Texas — DNA evidence has identified a suspect in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in southeast Houston.

Kenneth Ray Pool, 63, is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

On July 12, 2006, the 12-year-old victim was kidnapped from her home in the 15000 block of Old Galveston Road.

Investigators say the unknown male suspect posed as a law enforcement officer.

The victim, her face and hands bound, was taken to an unknown location and sexually assaulted. She was later released in the 3800 block of Red Bluff in Pasadena.
