3 Pepper Spray Devices: What’s Right for You?

July 28th, 2010 - Comments Off

When asked the question “What do you think of when you hear the words pepper spray?”   The majority of people might give a similar type of response:

A little old lady walking through a dark parking garage; she hears footsteps close by, turns  just in time to see someone coming from behind, and quickly lets loose a blinding stream of retardant from a small canister she keeps in her purse.

While this is definitely a realistic scenario, pepper spray is more than just a self defense device that can be used for little old ladies. In fact a handy container of pepper spray could save the life of your spouse, daughter, son, or even you.

Ponzi marketing schemes also known as pyramid schemes are illegal money making schemes in which people earn money by signing up other people who will in turn make money by signing up even more people with no product or service changing hands.

You will be lured to signup for this program because it offers the opportunity to make huge amounts of money with little or no money of your own.

Family Secure Child Identity Theft–Help! My Child’s Identity Was Stolen

August 5th, 2009 - Comments Off

Not only are adults affected, but also children, including newborns, are susceptible to the crime of identity theft. The result of this crime can take an emotional and psychological toll on them just as it does for adults. Most of the time, the person committing this crime is a family member or somebody known to the family. Some criminals specifically focus on children because this crime can go undetected for a very long time thus allowing the culprit enough time to ruin the child’s credit. The theft may go unnoticed until your child opens up his first checking account or is denied an automobile loan. In some instances, the police can come knocking on your door seeking to arrest your child for a crime he never committed. Protecting the children from this type of crime is the sole responsibility of the parents or legal guardians.

Hospice Medicare Fraud – Health Care Providers Bilking the Patients’ Medicare

July 31st, 2009 - Comments Off

Believe it or not hospices are the one place where you would least likely think that health care providers would bilk the patients and their family members.

Do you have faith in health care professionals? Have you ever thought that the physician or nurse providing health care to you would take an unfair advantage of your situation? What about workers in a hospice?

Not only does fraud occur in a hospice, but it also happens in HMO’s, clinics, nursing homes, and hospitals. Everybody seems to be getting their fair slice of the pie.

Forensic Handwriting Analysis – How is Handwriting Analysis Used in a Crime?

June 26th, 2009 - Comments Off

Criminal investigators have been using handwriting analysis since the beginning of FBI times. In 1932, when the FBI first opened its doors, document and handwriting analysis went hand in hand. Since then, analyzing handwriting has been used in a variety of criminal investigations for crimes in which documents were used. This type of analysis works to pinpoint a perpetrator when little other evidence of “who did it” exists. However, when used in conjunction with other evidence handwriting analysis can create a much stronger case against the accused.
