TAMPA, Florida – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a 28-year-old man and charged him with second-degree murder Wednesday afternoon when his girlfriend died hours after he manhandled.

At around 3 a.m., Leon Stevenson Jr., 28, and girlfriend Nakysha Hamilton, 23, got into confrontation over finances, sheriff’s office reported.

According to the sheriff’s office, Stevenson grabbed her by the neck and forcibly threw her on the floor at their apartment, 12802 N. 58th St, Tampa. He also slapped her several times and choked her.

Sensing her girlfriend having difficulty on breathing, he helped her to the shower and later on placed her on their bed, says the report.

Stevenson then went to sleep and woke up 8 a.m. when he noticed Hamilton have been gasping for an air and wasn’t moving, the sheriff’s office said. He drove Hamilton in his truck going to his mother’s apartment at the 1515 139th Ave., East Tampa.

When he arrived to his mother’s apartment, she asked him where Hamilton was, and he took her to his truck. At the passenger seat, Hamilton was unresponsive, according to sheriff’s office. His mother told him to bring Hamilton inside her apartment where she performed CPR.

Stevenson’s mother immediately called the sheriff’s office around 8:47 a.m. The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and try to revive Hamilton, but was pronounced dead at 9:10 a.m.

An autopsy report conducted by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office found that the cause of Hamilton’s death was blunt impact to the head. The death was ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

DENVER, Colorado – A woman was raped in a deserted airport concourse by a man whom she met at the airport bistro when she missed a connecting flight at the Denver International Airport while two janitors passed by and did nothing.

Suspect Noel Alexander Bertrand, 26, of Portland, Oregon, arrested by officers early Tuesday after two airline employees on the tarmac saw the attack through a window and immediately called for help, Denver television stations KMGH and KDVR reported.

Bertrand was being held and was set with $10,000 bail on suspicion of assault and felony sexual assault.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman was flying from Oregon to Illinois on Monday to interview at a convent have decided to spend overnight at the airport when she struck up a conversation with a man, she said.

After the bistro closed at midnight, the woman said Bertrand followed her. He asked to kiss her, she refused his advances, but he moved in anyway and then threw her on the floor. The man then pulled her pants down and started to assault her for about 10 minutes.

During the attack, two airport janitors passed by but said nothing, she said.

Bertrand was arrested and detained by police after a security guard called 911, airport spokeswoman Jenny Schiavone told the Denver Post.

At his Portland home Tuesday, a woman who said she is Bertrand grandmother answered the phone saying Bertrand is in Denver. She said her grandson is a former U.S. Marine but declined further comment.

Another airport spokeswoman, Laura Coale, told KMGH that the airport was investigating whether any employees failed to report the said attack.

Couple Richard Alan Fosdick and Amy Jo Bourland were arrested April 8.

KISSIMMEE, Florida – A felon who is a suspected of multiple burglaries in Osceola County have tossed his girlfriends’5-year-old son into the middle of a Kissimmee street on Tuesday while fleeing deputies on foot, authorities say.

The 28-year-old Richard Alan Fosdick said to be under investigation last week after deputies received information that he was involved in multiple burglaries, deputies said.

On April 8, officers conducting undercover investigations said they later observed Fosdick and his girlfriend 26-year-old Amy Jo Bourland committing burglary in the Loraine Estates subdivision in St. Cloud.

According to investigators, the couple parked near the intersection of East Sproule Avenue and Pleasant Street, before exiting their vehicle with Bourland’s son, after they drove to downtown Kissimmee.

Upon seeing the Osceola deputies, Fosdick was said fled on foot, carrying Bourland’s son with him – and tossed the boy into the street later on when deputies ordered him to stop running, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Later on, Fosdick and Bourland were arrested and immediately booked into the Osceola County jail. Fosdick was facing charges of unoccupied burglary, grand theft, child abuse, child neglect and resisting arrest without violence, deputies said.

While Bourland was charged with unoccupied burglary, grand theft and child neglect, deputies said. The pair had been suspected in at least eight burglaries, and additional charges are likely, deputies said.

The boy now is with a relative, according to Carrie Hoeppner, a spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Children and Families. A no-contact order has been issued for Bourland, Hoeppner said.

WAYNESVILLE, North Carolina — A man was caught and is back in custody after escaping from the Haywood County jail annex last month.

According to Haywood County Sheriff Bobby Suttles, escapee Frank Lee Evans Jr. was captured in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

“We had some information on where he was at, and law enforcement acted on that,” he said.

It was learned that on March 12, Evans had been trying to punch an escape hole through the roof in his annex cell and the Sheriff’s office decided to move him to the main jail. However, while he was about to be transferred on March 13, Evans got a chance to ran out a door and made an escaped.

It’s about a year ago since anyone made an escaped from Haywood County jail. Although the jail has a 92 beds, the annex houses only 30 inmates. Prisoners houses in the annex were normally facing misdeamenor charges.

At the time Evans escaped, he was not handcuffed. Now the jail has changed policy-transferring prisoners all will be handcuffed, Suttles said.

The inmate was about to be transferred to a state prison at the time he escape. From the South Carolina, Evans has been transferred to a North Carolina state prison, Suttles said.

Evan is serving a 30 months prison term for stealing tools and other items.

Other charges are waiting for him in Haywood County. He is charged with trafficking in prescription medication and possession of firearms by a felon. Additional charged with felony escape being filed for his jail break.

“He faces quite a bit of time if he is convicted on these charges,” Suttles said.

Former pain clinic comptroller and debt collector appeared on wheelchair in court.

LAKE COUNTY, Chicago – The 70-year-old Lake Geneva, Wis. man accused to have embezzled money of about $800,000 from a Libertyville pain clinic is not unfit to stand for the trial, his attorney told a judge concerning to his client.

Attorney Jeffrey Rogers said John McCall suffers from a debilitating form of dementia, which is taking psychotropic medication, more often falls asleep and easily get confused, when the accused appeared in front of Judge George Bridges in a wheelchair.

“I have a difficult time just explaining the charges to him,” Rogers said. “At one point during our conversation he just fell asleep.”

McCall, who now lives with his son on the North Shore, once worked from 2001-2007, as a comptroller and debt collector at the Center for Pain Control, 1800 Hollister Drive, according to Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Christen Bishop.

Aside from the salary McCall earned as a comptroller, he was also eligible to earn 30 percent of the outstanding debts he collected in addition to his salary, Bishop said. However, McCall and another suspect were being accused of taking 30 percent of all monies that came into the clinic, says Bishop.

McCall has been charged with theft without authority and theft by deception. He was due to be arraigned April 6, but Judge Bridges handed an order for a fitness evaluation to determine if he could be fit to stand for a trial.

Bridges will be expected to rule on the status of McCall’s fitness when both sides will appear in court on May 24 as scheduled.

CHICAGO, Illinois – After the alleged sexual assault  by two police officers to a 22-year-old woman they picked up Wednesday in their squad car, a third Chicago police officer has been stripped of his power involving the investigation of the said case, police said Saturday.

The police sources said that the third officer of the Town Hall District, who works in the same unit on the overnight “first watch” along two others who are under criminal investigation on the incident, was not on duty that Wednesday.

The said third police officer had been previously complained in connection with an incident involving another woman one night when he was partnering with one of the other two accused officer. Details of the lodged complaint against the third officer were not available, police source said.

“While these allegations are not criminal at this time or directly associated with (the Wednesday incident), the (third) officer has been relieved of his police powers and placed in an administrative assignment pending resolution of the allegation,” Chicago police said in an emailed statement Saturday.

A police source said that one of the cops being investigated last Wednesday sexual incident has had at least one other complaint lodged against him alleging sexual misconduct.

The officers have not charged criminally.

Investigators were told by 22-year-old woman complainant that on early Wednesday, when she was near Addison Street and Sheffield Avenue, the two officers offered her a ride home.

She told police, one officer had sex with her in the car, and, after playing strip poker in her Roger’s Park apartment, had sex with an officer there. She was afraid to refuse the woman told investigators.

A neighbor called police after she ran out of the apartment, screaming.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Police in Ohio are asking for public’s help for any information that would help locate fugitives.

Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s office identifies Fugitives of the Week.The authorities are looking for a 31-year-old sex offender Cleveland man who is identified as Rayshawn Jordan. He is a former resident of the 4600 block of Gallup Avenue. Police say that the fugitive gave the authorities a wrong address after serving a time for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

The second suspect the authorities are looking for is a 28-year-old Cleveland woman who lived in the 4400 block of Bohn Road. The fugitive is identified as Alethia Kilgore. Police say that the suspect is accused of identity fraud case involving credit cards and did not appear on the scheduled arraignment.

The third fugitive that the authorities are looking for is burglary suspect who allegedly stole a computer from his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. He also did not appear on a scheduled arraignment. The Cleveland Heights man who lived in the 14000 block of Superior Road is identified as 24-year-old Mario Lipscomb.

He is also charged with assault and domestic violence. He  allegedly hit the head of the mother of his children on a wall and dragged the woman by the hair around the house. Reports also say that the man threatened to kill the mother of his children.

Police are also looking for a Cleveland man who assaulted a couple in a residence where a woman that he was looking for rented before the couple moved into.  The fugitive was identified as 44-year-old Sean McDonald. Records show that his previous residence was at the 7000 block of Colgate Avenue and the 3300 block of Walton Avenue.

A 31-year-old Garfield Heights man is also being sought by the authorities who were released from prison for a drug related case who failed to report to his probation officer. His last evidence is at the 1400 block of MecGrove Avenue.  He was identified as Vance Menefee.

A 22-year-old man who posted a $2,500 bond is also being sought by the authorities. He led Cleveland police on a chase. The former resident of the 300 block of Babbitt Road and the 1800 block of East 79th Street in Cleveland is identified as Bryant Robinson.

They smashed the back glass door to get inside home.

TAMPA, Florida – Three men who smashed their way into a New Tampa home, were arrested by police. Police says after getting inside home, they stole a flat-screen television, credit card and a game console. A woman was hiding upstairs.

Tampa Police Department said that they arrested the three men while leaving a Walmart where they drove after breaking the town house’s sliding glass door on Trail Wind Drive about 1 p.m. Monday.

Before the burglary had happened, one of the suspects knocked on the front door. A 23-year-old woman inside home hid upstairs and did not answer them. The men went to the back and start to break the glass door to get through while the woman upstairs dialed 911, police said.

After men took a television, PlayStation 3, games and the credit card they drove to a Walmart at 19910 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., police said.

Officers, sourcing on a description of the car and partial license plate from the woman; gives them  led. An off-duty Tampa police officer at the store at that time found the car, spotted the three men in the store and arrested them as they left, police said.

All the stolen property has been recovered by the police, as well as the credit card.

The three arrested suspects were identified as: Curtis Marsh, 19, 8413 N. Armenia Ave.; Tynard Stokes, 19, 615 S. 17th Ave. S., St. Petersburg and Donte Freeman, 2205 E. Osborne Ave., Tampa, police said.

They were booked and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft.

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – A 40-year-old man suffering from cerebral palsy was sexually and physically abused in his apartment by a 19-year-old, before stealing his wallet and cell phone, police said.

Eric Wells, of West Palm Beach, was arrested Friday. He was charged with sexual assault, robbery with a weapon, burglary with assault, armed burglary and two counts of kidnapping.

The suspect is held at Palm Beach County Jail without bond

According to an arrest report, West Palm Beach police arrived around 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the home of unidentified victim, who got punched on his face.

Wells was near Military Trail, knocking on doors in an apartment building. He knocked into the victim’s door and was told to come inside, he told police. Once inside, he asked for someone, walked out, and fell asleep in the stairwell, the report says.

However, the victim told police another story: Wells come into the apartment, he punched him in the eye and sexually assaulted while holding a steak knife to his neck, a police report says.

The victim was then told to hide in a closet, make to count 60, 20 times while suspect going through his dresser; took his wallet and cell phone, according to the report.

The victim got a broken nose and deep cuts on his upper left eyebrow and his neck, according to report.

Neighbors saw a man sleeping in the stairwell who fitted Wells’ description. At the back of the building; the wallet, cell phone and two condom packages were later recovered by police.

Fingerprints in the cell phone matched Wells’, report says.

The scrap seller and buyer agreed to meet after a phone call.

MANATEE COUNTY, Florida – Two men who are into old scrap buying business thought they were going to buy old metal from a scrap seller in Bradenton town on Sunday.

But they weren’t, instead they got robbed at gunpoint by the posture scrap seller and his accomplice and they ended up empty handed, according to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was in a house on the 4200 block of Ninth Street East, Bradenton, where the supposed old junk metal selling-buying but turned into robbery was occurred.

Earlier on Sunday, the scrap seller made a phone call to the victim offering something to sell, according to report.

The scrap seller and the victims arranged their meeting around 2 p.m. The two victims met the scrap seller in the3800 block of 11th Street East. The seller said the scrap was to be picked-up at some different location and have them drive to the 4200 block of Ninth Street East.

When they arrived behind the house at that location, they discovered a second scrap seller waiting for them.

There in, the victims saw a pile of junk, thinking those were the junk metal they will be buying, they got out the truck and started to lower the tailgate.

As they were doing this, the scrap seller and his accomplice brandished a revolver and a semi-automatic handgun and started to demand the victims’ money, according to report.

An undisclosed amount of cash along with several cell phones from the victims were taken by the posture scrap sellers

The suspects fled on foot, leaving the victims unharmed, the report adds.
