Driver allegedly tried to run down officer

AMARILLO, Texas — Amarillo police said one person was injured and a woman was arrested on an assault charge following an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday night.

Amarillo Police Department Lt. Erick Bohannon said the person suffered injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening in the shooting about 10:30 p.m outside the Northwest Texas Hospital emergency room. He said the officer was not injured.

Police said Wednesday that officers responded to an assault call at the hospital, and an employee directed their attention to a man leaving the building. The man was the subject of an investigation not related to the original assault call, police said.

3 soldiers charged in 2012 sex assault

AUSTIN, Texas — An arrest affidavit states three soldiers have been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in an Austin hotel last year.

It has been reported that staff sergeants Perris L. Dumas, Marcus V. Davis, and Timothy R. Slack have each been charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony. Both Dumas, 30, and Davis, 32, are staff sergeants at Fort Hood, while Slack, 33, is a staff sergeant at Fort Sill in Oklahoma.

Woman Raped in Denver Airport Concourse

DENVER, Colorado – A woman was raped in a deserted airport concourse by a man whom she met at the airport bistro when she missed a connecting flight at the Denver International Airport while two janitors passed by and did nothing.

Suspect Noel Alexander Bertrand, 26, of Portland, Oregon, arrested by officers early Tuesday after two airline employees on the tarmac saw the attack through a window and immediately called for help, Denver television stations KMGH and KDVR reported.

Bertrand was being held and was set with $10,000 bail on suspicion of assault and felony sexual assault.

Third Cop in Sex Assault Investigation Relieved of Powers

CHICAGO, Illinois – After the alleged sexual assault  by two police officers to a 22-year-old woman they picked up Wednesday in their squad car, a third Chicago police officer has been stripped of his power involving the investigation of the said case, police said Saturday.

The police sources said that the third officer of the Town Hall District, who works in the same unit on the overnight “first watch” along two others who are under criminal investigation on the incident, was not on duty that Wednesday.

Two Crucial Hearings on Casey Anthony Case Heads Back to Court

ORLANDO, Florida – This week, Casey Anthony will be out of jail for two days. She’ll be going for a hearing at the Orange County Courthouse in her murder trial.

Prosecutors wants defense attorney Jose Baez be hold on contempt for not following one of court orders when it comes to deadlines.

They also told the judge to throw out defense motions that discuss plant growth that mentions chloroform at the crime scene.

Those motions are scheduled for Thursday’s hearing.

On Wednesday, former jail pen pals Anthony and Robyn Adams who is serving time in a federal prison outside Tallahassee will meet face-to-face.

70-Year-Old Fugitive in Sarasota Child Rape Case Found in Mexico

SARASOTA COUNTY, Florida — A 70-year-old man who was into guilty verdict of political corruption in Alaska is facing charges of rape of a 6-year-old girl and fleeing to Mexico.

The suspect, William Weimer, is awaiting extradition to Florida. According to Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Weimer was arrested in Cancun, Mexico, Saturday and has been brought to Texas.

Investigators of the said case issued a warrant for Weimer January 24, accusing him of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in August. The alleged rape was occurred when he was watching the girl while the mother was went to the airport.

Manatee Authorities Investigate Another Attack on Young Girl

MANATEE COUNTY, Florida – For the last three months, attacks against young girls within a mile of one another are the subject of investigations of authorities of Manatee County.

The latest one occurred Thursday afternoon, according to Manatee sheriff’s deputies. A 12-year-old girl was almost raped when a man followed her to a church parking lot off 26th Street. However, she was able to escape the rape try when she told the man that they were being watched. That makes scared the attacker, prompting him to run away, Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube said.

Murdered Teen Chelsea King Parents Not Suing the State

SAN DIEGO, California – The parents of murdered San Diego County teenager Chelsea King will not suing the state of California when it failed to put back in prison a sex offender who killed their daughter later after he violated his parole for an earlier attack on a young girl.

Chelsea parents, Brent and Kelly King had filed a claim with the state, often a precursor to a lawsuit, but their claim has been rejected.

Vancouver High School Teacher Accused of Sexual Contact

The high school teacher was being accused of having sex to his minor student.

VANCOUVER, Washington – A day after a band volunteer of a Vancouver high school was jailed of sexual misconduct with a minors, a high school teacher of the same school was arrested on the same charges.

Skyview High School staff member Nathan Botnen, 33, admitted having sexual relationship to one of his students, who was 17 at the time, Clark County investigators said.

Judge Says Malibu Rapist Trial Will Start This Month

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida – An Orange County Circuit Judge ruled that the trial of a Malibu man accused being rapist would start later this month.

The motion filed for the case by the public defenders for George W. Girtman to be moved on March was denied by Judge Marc Lubet.

Girtman, a twice-convicted rapist and serving time in Polk Correctional Institution is currently housed at the Orange county Jail for charges of raping a woman at knifepoint in April 1990.

The Malibu rapist name appeared after series of slew attacks years ago in a west of Ivery Lane called Malibu Homes.
