Young Woman Fatally Shot in South Suburb

CHICAGO, Illinois — Hayley Pelock, of the 3100 block of Courtney Lane in South Chicago Heights, was shot dead Friday night. She was just 19-year-old when killed in south suburban Chicago Heights in the first block of West 26th Street in Chicago Heights Friday evening according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said they had people of interest in the case, but refused to say whether they were being questioned or held by police.

A medical examiner’s spokesman said she was declared dead on the scene at 7;50 p.m.

Manatee Authorities Investigate Another Attack on Young Girl

MANATEE COUNTY, Florida – For the last three months, attacks against young girls within a mile of one another are the subject of investigations of authorities of Manatee County.

The latest one occurred Thursday afternoon, according to Manatee sheriff’s deputies. A 12-year-old girl was almost raped when a man followed her to a church parking lot off 26th Street. However, she was able to escape the rape try when she told the man that they were being watched. That makes scared the attacker, prompting him to run away, Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube said.

Trinity Coach Speaks About Pepper Spray on Soccer End Game

The scuffles led to an arrest, deputies said.

OCALA, Florida – Trinity Catholic High School’s Celtics soccer team is all set to their semi-final game next Tuesday. The players are focus despite ongoing investigation on what happened on their last win, Trinity Coach Chigozie Offor said.

“We went out there and played a game and we won a very tough game against a good team,” Offor said.

On the end game against Suwannee High School, an obtained video from Local 6 revealed a scuffle between players showing with the school resource officer dispersing the mob using a pepper spray.

SAN DIEGO, California – The parents of murdered San Diego County teenager Chelsea King will not suing the state of California when it failed to put back in prison a sex offender who killed their daughter later after he violated his parole for an earlier attack on a young girl.

Chelsea parents, Brent and Kelly King had filed a claim with the state, often a precursor to a lawsuit, but their claim has been rejected.

SOUTH BEND, Indiana — The university acted with integrity the way it handled on the alleged sexual misconduct against football player to a Saint Mary’s College student who later committed suicide, says Notre Dame’s president.

The Rev. John I. Jenkins told the South Bend Tribune for a story Sunday: campus police conducted a “thorough and judicious investigation that followed the facts where they led.”

“I cannot stand by and allow the integrity of Notre Dame to be challenged so publicly,” Jenkins said. “The values at issue go to the very heart of who and what we are at Notre Dame.”

Indiana Prosecutors Received “Voluminous” Report from Notre Dame Police

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Indiana – A police report from Notre Dame concerning about the allegation to the sexual attack of a football player, more than two months ago, has been received by St. Joseph County prosecutors, officials said.

Prosecutor Michael Dvorak said, a ”voluminous” report was forwarded by the police to his office Friday, but he only aware on Sunday, when a newspaper published a detailed story on how the university handled the case.

School Bus Driver Arrested and Charged of Sex Abuse

The bus driver provided his son the opportunity to meet the student to engage sex.

TOWN OF TRENTON, New York – A Holland Patent School District driver, State Police say is involved in the rape of a 16-year-old female student whom he took to see his 23-year-old son.

Police say the girl was rape by 23-year-old Michael Newland Jr. at her home in the Town of Trenton

According to police, 44-year-old Michael Newland Sr. was the bus driver and kept past her scheduled stop. He then went off to an unauthorized route and stop to visit and provided his son’s cell phone number to the student.

Franklin Regional District Teacher Accused of Sexting Students

MURRYSVILLE, Pennsylvania – A social studies teacher for Franklin Regional School District was placed under administrative leave, after police have been alerted about suspected inappropriate texting between the teacher and several students.

Murrysville police are investigating the incident which “more than one “student and the high school teacher involved.

“Beginning of the week, we were notified by Children and Youth Services concerning some information about a Franklin Regional student who had been receiving inappropriate text messages from a Franklin Regional teacher,” according to Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld.

While detectives about to finish their week long investigation, the teacher’s name remains confidential.
