Son stabbed father to death, threatened mom with ax in East El Paso

July 27th, 2018 - Comments Off

EL PASO, Texas — A 33-year-old El Paso man has been accused of threatening his mother with ax after stabbing to death his own father at a home in the far East Side.

Desiderio Agader III remains at the El Paso County Jail held on a $1.5 million bond in the stabbing death of his father, Desiderio Saldevar Agader Jr., 54.

Police were dispatched July 17 to the Agader home in the neighborhood of Pebble Hills High School, according to a complaint affidavit filed by a detective.

The affidavit states the father and son were arguing because the son had refused to remove his slippers when entering their home in the 14200 block of Valour Point Avenue.

Officers determined the dispute was only verbal and not physical and there was no arrest, the document states.

Then at about 6 a.m. July 18, the suspect’s mother, Priscilla Agader, was awakened by a loud bang, the complaint states. She reportedly tried to walk downstairs to see what the noise was but was stopped by Agader III.

The complaint states Agader III was holding what appeared to be an ax and allegedly threatened her and told her to go back upstairs. She then climbed out a second-story window and yelled for help, the documents states.

A neighbor heard her screaming and went over to see what was happening. When Agader III met the neighbor at the front door, his mother ran downstairs and found her husband in the kitchen, the complaint states.

Agader Jr. was lying on his back with stab wounds to his chest and neck on a kitchen floor full of blood. A knife was on the floor next to him, the complaint states.

Police arrived after Priscilla Agader called 911 to report that her husband had been stabbed. Agader Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.

The neighbor told police that the mother was yelling that her son had killed his father, according to the complaint.

The neighbor reportedly noticed that Agader III had blood on both hands before allegedly telling the neighbor that he had killed his father, the complaint states.

Police said Agader III was taken into custody at the home and booked into jail. He remains in the Downtown jail and faces charges of murder and family violence-aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a jail log.
