EL PASO, Texas – El Paso police reportedly arrested two men and a woman accused of burglarizing more than a dozen homes, including some houses with sleeping owners.

Police officials said Monday the alleged burglars were arrested in connection with separate home burglary sprees on the West Side and on the East Side and Lower Valley.

Police said investigators reportedly arrested Francisco Gustavo Villescas and Cristal Peña on Saturday in connection with a rash of home burglaries in West El Paso.

Villescas and Peña “entered homes during nighttime hours, on several occasions while residents slept, gaining entry through open garage doors,” according to a news release.

Police said vehicles, electronics, jewelry, cellphones, tools, weapons and other items were stolen during a burglary spree from May 14 to June 6.

Police said at least seven homes were burglarized and added charges are pending.

Villescas, 24, of Sunland Park, was arrested on seven counts of burglary of habitation, evading arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He is being held at the El Paso County Jail Downtown under a total bond of $310,000.

Peña, 19, of Canutillo, was arrested on one count each of burglary and theft of a firearm. She was jailed on a $21,000 bond.

West Side residents who were victims of recent home burglary via an open garage door are asked to contact the Westside Regional Command Center at 212-0370.

Meanwhile, police said Mission Valley and Pebble Hills Tactical Unit investigators also arrested Adolfo Cornejo on June 5 in connection with at least six home burglaries in the Lower Valley and East Side.

Investigators reportedly found items allegedly stolen during the burglaries in Cornejo’s car, his apartment and a pawn shop.

Cornejo, 28, was arrested on six counts of burglary of habitation and on a parole violation, jail records show. He is being held at the El Paso County Jail Annex on a total bond of $330,000.
