Man accused of assaulting wife, stepson in west San Antonio

June 3rd, 2018 - Comments »

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly beat his wife, drove into his stepson with a pickup truck, set the front of their home on fire and then drove the truck into the home.

Police said the man started beating his wife as they argued in the cab of a pickup truck about 12:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Ricardo.

The woman’s son heard the couple arguing and attempted to intervene when his stepfather allegedly used the pickup to drive into him, hitting him in the legs, according to police.

Police said the stepson managed to get himself and his mother into the house. The stepfather then poured gasoline on the front of the house and lit it before he got back into the truck and drove into the house.

The man was arrested and is facing aggravated assault charges and possible arson. The stepson was taken to University Hospital in stable condition. The mother was badly beaten, but was not taken to the hospital.

In a separate incident, police are looking for at least three males and a couple of females who allegedly beat and shot a man inside his motel room following a confrontation over a noise on the Northwest Side.

San Antonio police said a guest at the Fiesta Inn & Suites on the 4900 block of N.W. Loop 410 confronted a group of people about midnight for being too loud but he was immediately attacked.

Officers say the victim told the group he had called security and asked them to leave. The group then rushed the man, barged into his room and beat him, according to police.

One member of the group then pulled a gun and shot the victim in the leg. Police say the victim was treated at the scene and refused to be taken to a hospital. The suspects reportedly fled the scene and are still at large.
