FORT WORTH, Texas – Police said five young men, including four teens, were arrested after a fight in a residential neighborhood in south Fort Worth where shots were allegedly fired.

One man was wounded early Sunday in the melee, which police described as a “large party” attended by nearly 400 people.

Police reportedly believed shots were fired at them, but no officer was injured. Police said officers did not return fire.

Fort Worth jail records identified the suspects as Xavier Yvanez, 20; Munir Ali Nazri-Acosta, 19; Khalil Thornton, 19; Corey Davis, 18; and Armando Perez, 18, all of Fort Worth. They reportedly face charges of aggravated assault.

Fort Worth school records show Perez is a student at Paschal High School while Nazri-Acosta is a former student at Paschal.

Davis is a former student at Eastern Hills High School, Yvanez an ex-student at South Hills High School and Thornton a former student at Success High School, records state.

The fight was called in to police shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of Boulder Canyon Trail.

When police arrived, they estimated nearly 400 people were in the area.

“While officers were on the scene obtaining control of the incident, shots were fired,” Officer Daniel Segura said Sunday. “Officers believe that the shots may have been directed towards them.”

Police said a man suffered a superficial gunshot wound to the head and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers reportedly stopped a vehicle fleeing the scene, and several of the five suspects were in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, court records say Davis and Perez have no criminal history in Tarrant County while Yvanez, Thornton and Nazri-Acosta have been arrested several times in the county.
