April 13th, 2018 - Comments Off

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Police say a 17-year-old male reportedly died at the hospital Thursday night after he was shot multiple times in the Central neighborhood.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia says officers were called at about 5:20 p.m. to Arbor Park Village at Jelliffe Avenue and Mount Hermon Avenue where the unidentified teen was found inside a residence.

Police say the teen had been dragged by another male after the shooting.

Officers reportedly learned the teen had been standing outside the residence when a “large amount of gunfire” erupted and he was struck several times, with wounds to the head and back area.

The victim was pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center. There was no information on arrests or a motive for the shooting.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to call 216-623-5464.

In a separate incident, police said a man was injured Thursday in a shooting outside a Cleveland Heights barbershop.

Police said a customer at Excel’s Shop of Excellence Barbershop was shot about 10:30 a.m. outside the business on Noble Road near Monticello Boulevard.

Police said the man was shot twice in the leg, and a third shot grazed his chin. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Cleveland Heights police did not provide an update on his condition. Investigators have not announced any arrests in the case.

Police said the customer was involved in an argument with a barbershop employee. Investigators did not say who shot the customer. Investigators are working to gather surveillance video from nearby businesses.
