Suspect executed man with 12-gauge shotgun on West Side

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Authorities on Thursday reportedly arrested a 44-year-old man who allegedly executed a man who was “begging for his life” with a shotgun at a West Side apartment.

Moises Morales now faces a murder charge in the death of Vincent Fisher, 31. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond early Friday.

Morales is accused of shooting Fisher during an argument around 9:30 p.m. on March 31 at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of South Zarzamora.

“We’re still investigating the exact motive behind the murder of Mr. Fisher,” said San Antonio Police spokesperson Doug Greene, “but it’s our understanding that several individuals were in that apartment complex prior to him being shot.”

An arrest affidavit states Morales and Fisher started arguing that night and Morales pulled out the shotgun and pumped one round into Fisher.

A witness reportedly told police that Fisher was “begging for his life when Moe walked up to him and shot him again in the head,” killing him.

After killing Fisher, Morales reportedly gave a Bible to a man who was inside the apartment and witnessed the shooting. He then fled.

On April 5, the man who had Morales’ Bible contacted police and told them about the alleged killing. He said he didn’t know Morales’s true identity, but turned over the Bible to police.

Officers later discovered the name “Moises Morales” on the backside of the Bible’s cover.

After further investigation, police obtained a photograph for Morales and the witness positively identified him as the man who killed Fisher, the affidavit states.

Based on that evidence, authorities reportedly secured an arrest warrant for Morales.

On Thursday, officers with the San Antonio Police Department’s Homicide Unit notified the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Violent Crimes Unit that Morales was in the 2000 block of Julia Ross.

Authorities reportedly found Morales at the location and arrested him around 10 p.m. without incident.
