FORT WORTH, Texas – Authorities said a security guard was wounded early Sunday in a drive-by shooting following a disturbance at a fast-food restaurant.

At least three shots were fired during the incident at the Whatabuger on Beach Street, just north of Airport Freeway. Authorities continue to search Sunday for the gunman.

Police responded to the shooting call shortly before 4 a.m. at 955 N. Beach Street where a caller told police everyone was on the ground.

Detectives say they believe there was a disturbance at the location and the guard was shot during a drive-by. The guard, who suffered a gunshot wound to his arm, reportedly drove himself to a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

In an unrelated incident, Fort Worth police are also searching for a gunman who fled in U-Haul truck following a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon in east Fort Worth.

Fort Worth Police said the shooting took place in the area of Eastchase Parkway and Meadowbrook Boulevard around 4:59 p.m.

Fort Worth police spokesman Bradley Perez said two males were walking through a parking lot when one pulled a gun on the other and shot him.

The suspect reportedly jumped into a U-Haul truck and fled the scene. Perez said the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Saturday morning, a man was found at a motel with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Dispatchers reportedly got the shooting call shortly before 7:50 a.m.

Officers reportedly arrived at the Motel 6, located in the 900 block of East Northside Drive, and found the shooting victim in a room.

Police said the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The Tarrant County medical examiner reportedly identified the victim as 37-year-old Corey Brown.
