Arrest made in fatal East Side shooting

February 25th, 2018 - Comments Off

EL PASO, Texas — An El Paso police spokesman said Saturday a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Friday in an apartment on the East Side.

Sgt. Robert Gomez said a 21-year-old man died after being shot at about 4:20 p.m. Friday at the Dos Santos Apartments on Shannon Place.

The apartments are located near to the intersection of Yarbrough Drive and Montana Avenue. Gomez said that the man who was arrested was located at the scene.

Names and further details were not immediately available. The case remains under investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.

In a separate incident, authorities reportedly finished their investigation on Friday into an apparent murder-suicide earlier this month.

El Paso County Sheriff’s officials said an El Paso doctor allegedly shot and killed a nurse before killing herself in a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Dr. Barbara Adams and William Joseph Glover were found Feb. 15 at a home in the Eastlake area.

Sheriff’s officials said that detectives determined Adams allegedly shot and killed Glover before taking her own life with a self-inflicted gunshot.

Officials said the bodies were found at 1 a.m. on the day after Valentine’s Day by deputies who were conducting a welfare check at a home in the 800 block of Crathorne Street near Horizon City.

An obituary for Adams lists her death as being on Feb. 14.

Sheriff’s officials said Adams, 36, and Glover, 40, were contract employees at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso.

Records show Adams was a surgeon and Glover was a nurse practitioner.
