CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 53-year-old Cleveland woman watching television on the couch was struck Thursday when someone allegedly fired several bullets into a West Side home.

A Cleveland police report states the shooting occurred shortly after midnight at a house on West 95th Street south of Madison Avenue in the Cudell neighborhood.

A bullet reportedly struck the woman in the buttocks and traveled through her body and exited through her abdomen.

The report says she was taken to MetroHealth, where police were told that she would be released later on Thursday.

The woman was watching TV in the living room when she heard four to six gunshots and felt pain in her lower body.

Her daughter reportedly called police once they realized the woman was shot.

Her son reportedly told police that a man carrying a gun on his hip had visited him at the house that night.

The man reportedly argued with him and walked outside moments before the shots were fired.

Investigators reportedly found two bullet holes in living room walls, and four bullet holes upstairs. Police haven’t announced any arrests in the case.

In a separate incident Thursday, police said a 30-year-old man was shot and killed afternoon in Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood.

Cleveland police said the victim was shot just before 6 p.m. in the intersection of East 55th Street and Blanche Avenue.

The man was taken to MetroHealth Hospital, where he later died. Authorities did not identify the man or provide a motive in the shooting.

No arrests have been made and the shooting remains under investigation.
