LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force reportedly arrested a man wanted in a delivery driver carjacking in Lakewood.

U.S. Marshals said David Fields, 52, was arrested Thursday on Cedar Road near East 22nd Street in Cleveland.

The task force said Fields is charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping in a June 9, 2017 carjacking outside North Coast Wine and Beer on West 117th Street at Madison Avenue.

Police said the 30-year-old Lakewood driver, who worked for ABL Wholesale in Youngstown, was not hurt.

The driver delivered beer and wine shortly after 9:30 p.m. He was walking to his truck when two men reportedly came up to him. One man allegedly pointed a gun and ordered him to get into the truck’s cargo area, police said.

An earlier release said U.S. Marshals reportedly identified Fields as the man who pointed the gun.

The alleged carjackers reportedly drove with the delivery truck to East 108th Street near Arthur Avenue in Cleveland where they unloaded 20 to 30 cardboard boxes, each containing 30 cartons of cigarettes, according to police.

They then drove to East 86th Street near Nevada Avenue and ditched the driver and truck, police said.

Court records show Fields was indicted Nov. 14 in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

Two other men also have been charged in the carjacking, according to court records.

Demetrius R. Clardy, 42, of Cleveland, is charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and having weapons while under disability.

Cleveland B. Gresham Jr., 29, of Cleveland, who also remains at-large, is charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping, according to court records.
