Masked gunmen allegedly robbed father, son at North Side home

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Three suspects allegedly robbed a father and son of their marijuana Tuesday on the North Side during an apparent botched drug deal.

Officers reportedly responded to the robbery call around 12:50 p.m. at a home in the 10100 block of Lorene, where they found the two victims, a father and a son.

Police say the victims were expecting to make a drug deal some time around when the robbery took place.

One of the victims heard a knock at the door and opened it to find one suspect, who they said had arranged to buy drugs, along with two other suspects who were armed with handguns and wearing black masks.

Sgt. Danny Alonzo said the masked men allegedly told the victims to get on the ground and then took the drugs. The remaining suspect appears to have pretended he was unaware of the plan.

The suspects, described only as black men, are believed to have fled the scene in a white van.

In a separate robbery incident, one of three alleged armed robbers was jailed Monday in a damsel-in-distress-style robbery on the South Side.

Mariah Gutierrez, 23, faces a charge of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and a misdemeanor theft charge. She remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $56,400 bond.

Police said Gutierrez called a locksmith for help around 6 a.m. on Jan. 21 in the 2500 block of South Presa.

When the locksmith arrived, two men walked up to him, one of them pointing a “black handgun with a green laser” at his face, the affidavit.

The locksmith reportedly thought both he and Gutierrez were being robbed, but the men said “Let’s go,” and Gutierrez joined them in the locksmith’s car, a Cadillac Escalade, and fled.

The locksmith was able to track them using his stolen cell phone and gave the information to authorities.

Then on Jan. 30, officers with the Pleasanton Police Department reportedly stopped the vehicle and detained four people inside. The locksmith later identified Gutierrez in a photo lineup and a warrant for her arrest was granted.

Bronson Broz, 30, has also been identified in the robbery, though it is unclear if he has been arrested at this time.
