SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Two armed suspects allegedly held up a pay day loan shop Thursday morning, entering the business by dramatically dropping from the ceiling before fleeing.
Officers reportedly responded to the robbery around 7 a.m. at a Speedy Cash near Babcock and Callaghan Roads.
An officer said the suspects fell from the ceiling while employees were inside and then allegedly robbed the business. The pair reportedly fled in an unknown direction after the robbery.
It remains unclear how much money the alleged robbers took and whether the employees themselves were also robbed.
Police had not reviewed security camera footage Thursday morning and were unable to provide a more detailed description of the suspects.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man was shot in the stomach Wednesday night following an argument involving three people at a Southeast Side apartment complex.
Police responded to the shooting around 10 p.m. near Pecan Valley Drive and Dollarhide Avenue where witnesses said the victim had an ongoing argument with a suspect at the apartment complex.
The victim had drunkenly tried to fight the suspect and another man Wednesday night. One of the suspects allegedly fired one round at the victim.
The argument continued, and then a different suspect fired several more shots at him, striking him at least once in the stomach. The suspects then fled.
Police say the victim went to his apartment but couldn’t get in, so he crossed the street, where a witness rendered aid. The victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center and was in surgery Wednesday night.
Authorities are yet to take a statement from the victim. The suspects are described as a white man in his 40s who is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, and a black man in his 30s who has a tattoo on his neck and is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.
