COLLEGE STATION, Texas – An alleged drug deal reportedly turned violent Thursday when a man was shot with a BB gun, kicked in the ribs and head, and beaten with a large rock and wooden board.
Officers were reportedly called to an apartment in the 200 block of Spruce Street around 11:20 a.m. Thursday where a resident told dispatchers that they could hear fighting and weeping from a neighbor’s residence.
Officers reportedly knocked on the apartment door and were greeted by a man drenched in blood. The man reportedly told police that two men had just tried to kill him, and had fled out the bedroom window.
Police reportedly captured Christopher De’Wayne Fenner, 18, and Rufus Deshardron Davis Jr., 21, both of Conroe.
The victim was taken to an area hospital. He had several cuts on his head, bruises across his body, a broken arm, three broken ribs, two punctured lungs, and had possibly suffered a concussion.
The victim told police that Davis and Fenner had showed up at his apartment and asked to buy methamphetamine, but the victim told them he had none to sell.
A BB gun was then drawn on him, which he perceived as a real pistol, and he handed over $100. He said the two men continued to demand drugs and began shooting him with the BB gun.
He had trouble recalling all that happened next, but remembers being attacked by blunt objects such as a wooden board and a rod. He said a knife also was pulled on him, though he was not stabbed.
Police reportedly found bloody shoeprints inside the victim’s apartment. The victim had not been wearing shoes, and the prints did not match the shoes his girlfriend had been wearing.
