The most recent shooting incident took place early Sunday morning in a bar on the north side of Columbus.
Officers from the Columbus Division of Police were called to respond to a bar located in the 4600 block of Maize Road following a report of a shooting incident.
The officers responded to the Tony’s Bar at about 1:55 early Sunday morning and discovered a man who was shot once, according to the reports.
The responding medic personnel transported the victim to the Riverside Methodist Hospital. Hospital officials say that he is already in a stable condition.
There were no details that were released in connection with the shooting incident.
The name of the victim and the name of the suspect were not immediately available.
Last Monday, a teenager was also shot near a bar in the west side of Columbus, according to the reports.
Reports indicated that the shooting victim went to a bar at 1662 W. Mound Street after he learned that a fight broke out in the bar at around 1 a.m. Monday.
The victim who is identified as nineteen-year-old Kentay Wilkerson went to the Burnzie’s Tavern to check on his brother when a melee broke out. It was around 1:30 early Monday morning when he arrived. He was already walking out of the bar when two male suspects confronted him outside the bar.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and discharged his weapon towards the victim several times. The victim suffered from multiple gunshot wound and was transported to the Mount Carmel West Hospital. He is expected to survive.
