CINCINNATI, Ohio – A College Hill Drive-Thru clerk grabbed a gun and shot and wounded an alleged robber late Wednesday evening, according to the Cincinnati police.
The incident took place at the C&D Drive-Thru, 1979 North Bend Road. The College Hill store clerk told the police that the man was about to rob the store. He Felt threatened
and when the man was about to rob the store, he pulled out a gun and opened fire at the suspect.
The shooting incident that took place at around 10:45 p.m. late Wednesday night wounded the suspect. He was able to run but collapsed on Connecticut Avenue because of his injury, according to the reports.
The Cincinnati police responded to the scene after a resident reported of a man who was shot several times was seen lying unconscious in front of his driveway.
The paramedics who responded to the scene transported the suspect to the University Hospital where he was listed in a serious condition, according to the reports.
Cincinnati police say that they also took into custody a second person at the C&D Drive-Thru. They are trying to determine whether he was an accomplice to the attempted robbery or he was just a customer in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was apprehended without any incident.
There was no immediate information that was available in connection with the recent condition of the wounded suspect and his identity. The identity of the second person who was taken into custody was not released.
The name of the College Hill store clerk was not released. The incident is still being investigated by the Cincinnati Police Department, according to the reports.
There were no other injuries that were reported.
