TOLEDO, Ohio – The law enforcement officers in Toledo are investigating a shooting incident that took place in a South Toledo home where a Toledo man was shot several times late Tuesday evening, according to the reports.
The Toledo police investigators say that the shooting incident was a burglary that went wrong. They say that there were two suspects in the shooting incident.
The Toledo police and the medic personnel were called to respond to the a home in the 100 block of Arklow in South Toledo following a report that shots were fired in the area shortly before midnight of Tuesday.
The Toledo police arrived at the scene early Wednesday morning. They found a victim with a gunshot wound. Investigators say that there were two people who forced their way into the home at around 11:50 late Tuesday evening. The two suspects demanded drugs and money from the residents of the home, according to the reports.
The 39-year-old man who was identified as Lamar Richardson and a 34-year-old woman identified as Kwonda Burrough was sleeping inside the home when the two suspects kicked open the door. One of the men was armed with a handgun and had a hat with a “police” written on it.
Kwonda Burrough was dragged by one of the suspects to the kitchen and demanded for the key to the car. They took the key but they did not take the car, according to the reports.
Burrough said that he heard several shots and the two robbers took off. The robbers took the car keys and two laptop computers, according to the reports.
Burrough discovered Lamar Richardson with a gunshot wound. The responding medic personnel transported the wounded man to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly known as the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where he was treated from a non-life threatening injury.
As of today, there were no suspects that were arrested.
