COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police in Columbus say that four individuals were shot following a drive-by shooting that took place late Saturday night, according to the reports.
Initial investigation reveals that the multiple shooting incident might have stemmed from an armed robbery in the area where the shooting incidents took place.
Two calls for 911 were received in connection with the shooting incidents. The first call asked for assistance after an injured man was discovered at the 481 Lilley Avenue in Columbus at around 10:50 p.m. late Saturday evening. The second call came in minutes later calling the Columbus police for assistance to the 1009 Lilley Avenue, according to the reports.
Three of the four individuals were already identified. The victims were twenty-year-old Chaz Gipson, thirty-year-old Yero Martin and thirty-one-year-old Eric Hines, according to the reports.
One of the four victims were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital while the three other victims were taken to the Grant Medical Center. Two of them were treated from a multiple gunshot wounds. The two who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds were listed in a critical condition, according to the reports.
Columbus police investigators said that there were more than one suspects in the shooting incidents. They also said that they had already identified a sixteen-year-old male teen who was involved in the multiple shooting incident. His name was not immediately available.
The name of the victim who was taken to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital was not immediately available. The conditions of the four victims in the multiple shooting incident was not immediately available.
The drive-by shooting incident is still being investigated by the Columbus police department.
There were no other suspects that were armed or taken onto custody in connection with the drive-by shooting incident.
