Euclid police investigate Monday night shooting death on Breckenridge Drive

EUCLID, Ohio — Police are investigating a shooting incident Monday night where a thirty-year-old Euclid man was fatally shot, according to the reports.

The Euclid police were called to respond in a residence on 25620 Breckenridge Drive. Reports say that there were multiple calls to 911 emergency that were received after shots were fired in the area, according to the reports.

The Euclid man was identified as thirty-four-year-old DeJohn J. Dammons. The Euclid police officer found the man lying in the driveway by his car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The autopsy will be done by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Euclid Police investigators said that preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting incident happened after the shooter forced their way inside the home of the victim. Reports also say that the shooter also assaulted the female resident before shooting the thirty-four-year-old man, according to the reports.

There were other people who were inside the residence but no other injuries were reported in the shooting incident.

The fatally shot Euclid man was working as a cook at Big Boy’s Seafood just a few miles away in South Euclid, according to the reports.

The Euclid Police Department Detective Bureau is now asking for the public’s help for any information that will lead to the arrest of the shooter.

On a separate story, the Central Ohio Crime stoppers are asking for any information that will lead to the arrest of the man who stole six cameras on a Columbus Department store, according to the reports.

The man stole six cameras from the Kohl’s Department Store at 6063 Sawmill Road. The cameras are worth one hundred fifty pesos each, according to the reports.

The Central Ohio Crime stoppers are now offering a two thousand dollar reward for any information that will aid the investigation of camera theft.
